18 Month "C" + Baby Session

Thursday, April 9, 2009
Thursday, April 9th, 2009 + Fashion Island

O H A N A. Family. Today, I got a chance to capture a few moments to celebrate baby "C"'s 18 month milestone! :) On a side note, as may of you know, I do not put children's names on my blogs. Each child receives a letter. We cannot be too careful in this world. Back to wonderful "C." Maryana, "C"'s mom, is one of the wonderful people I am proud to call "Ohana." What does it mean to be Ohana. Well, of course, most people recognize that phrase from a popular disney production called "Lilo and Stitch." Ohana means family. Yes, actually, in the native Hawaiian language, Ohana does mean family. So when it comes to a photoshoot, Ohana means that K'Aloha is available to you. Most retail stores have one day a year where friends and family can shop at the same discount as the employee. With K'Aloha, that day can come as often as you would like it too. Whether you would like to do one single shoot, or multiple ones, K'Aloha Photography aims to treat you like a favoured family member. Secondly, Ohana means helping you out financially. Once you become a part of the K'Aloha Ohana Club, every shoot after your first receives a 10 percent discount! :) Today as I was shooting "C"'s 18 month session, I couldnt help but feel incredibly blessed to be a part of his life. The best part of this job is to be able to watch people not only flourish in their moments, but also to grow. This is especially a wonderful miracle to witness when photographing children. It seems like last December "C" was so much smaller. It is amazing what can happen in 5 months! I can't wait for my next shoot with baby "C" and his mom! All I have to say about this little guy is GQ model and a half! :) Watch out ladies. :)

Maryana & Christopher + Home Session

Sunday, December 21, 2008
Saturday, December 20th, 2008 + Laguna Hills, CA
Today I got to shoot one of my very FAVORITE work friend's baby! Maryana is my partner in crime at our school when it comes to the AVID program. She teahes 9th grade (they call her the AVID mama), and I get the privilege to be with the 10th graders. We were roomies at summer institute, share our first period prep, and spend endless hours sharing stories of our families. I was so excited to finally get to "meet" Christopher. From the moment I walked into her house, he smiled from grin to grin. We had a good time playing around all day. Simply put, he melted my heart! I am sure all of you will agree with me that he is quite possibly one of the best looking babies around! Enjoy our fun day with Christopher. Maryana, thank you for being such a wonderful and supportive friend!

He is such a model baby!

Can you say STUD MUFFIN!?

Merry Christmas Mommy!
Hey you!

Michelle & Lauren + Baby Session

Thursday, December 11, 2008
Thursday, December 11th, 2008 Home Session + Huntington Beach, CA
I am very privileged to be a teacher. I am blessed to work with some remarkable individuals. One of these very special people is Michelle. She is a special education teacher. As you might imagine, she pours a lot of love into numerous people. I feel honored to be able to take pictures of her beautiful baby girl, Lauren. I wish their family a lifetime of happiness, with wonderful, deep, and loving memories for every step of the way. Tonight Michelle asked me what type of photography I would like to specialize in. The only way that I could answer her was to say "photojournalistic." I just want to be there for people to capture the most important moments of their lives. It seems like Michelle just left work for maternity leave, and now she has a three month old daughter! Time sure does fly by, which is why I am glad that I am pursuing a passion that allows us to freeze those special moments in time.

Lauren is nearly 3 months old now, and as beautiful as ever.
Her mother holds her with great love.
She is such a cutie! These are Lauren's booties. They actually also happened to be her mother, Michelle's booties.
Such gorgeous eyes. Watch out Dad!
